Getting In

The best way to get from Zurich Airport to the city is by train. There is a station located within the airport.

Your destination depends on your accommodation (see information email). You either travel to the main station called Zürich Hauptbahnhof (Zürich HB), and continue by other means of transport from there. Or, if you stay in the Youth Hostel, you can take a direct train from Zurich Airport to Zürich Wollishofen and walk to the hostel.

In any case, we recommend buying a ZVV 24h-ticket, 2nd class, full price, valid for the zones 110 and 121. It allows you to reach your accommodation, do the check-in, and take another bus/tram/train to Dreieck (meeting point).  You can purchase your ticket from one of the vending machines, at the counter, or online (link). The ZVV tickets are valid for all means of transportation in Zurich.

Travelling by train or bus is ideal as you arrive in the heart of the city at the main train station. It's called Zürich Hauptbahnhof, often abbreviated as Zürich HB. From there, you can reach your accommodation by tram/bus/foot – depending on where you are housed (see information email).

Your accommodations are all located where parking is either scarce or not even available. We strongly recommend not driving to Zurich. If there are reasons to travel by car and you require parking, please contact us beforehand.

Please note: You will have to purchase the tram/train tickets for your arrival/departure by yourself. All other tickets for your stay are provided by us. As mentioned on the site Getting around the one-day pass will be valid for 24 hours. Validation of your pass will take place on your first ride at one of the ticket machines. After that you will not have to validate the ticket for any ride within the next 24 hours.
